Week 2

After I did some research about preservation, i found, that many things can be preserve. These are the things that i found, and still, I don't know which one would be my project.

Batik Painting Preservation

-In this generation, not all people especially young generation and kids, know about batik painting

How:

-Show the video/motion graphics, and give explanation about batik painting

-to make it more interesting, let them try by their self.

-they can do the batik painting not only on the clothes, but anything they want

-so i will give some options such as, to do it on a plywood, on a tiles (small pieces), box

or wherever they want to.

- i will prepare some tutorial on how to start the batik painting, and the tutorial is not just a video, but it will appear on the entire wall, so it will looks like wall painting in motion graphics, and it shows how to start the batik painting.

-they can take the batik painting that they did.

Traditional Music Instrument

-to preserve traditional music instrument such as 'angklong' and 'kompang', so the new generation still can know about traditional music instrument.

How:

-hanging the instrument, 

-once people hit, for example, they hit the 'kompang' once, then the sound of 'kompang' will be heard, same goes to the 'angklong', they need to hit once only.

-while the sound playing, the design will appear on the wall, it shows the rhythm of the sound.

Week 1

First class for this trimester, and we got the theme for our FYP (final year project). The theme is about PRESERVATION. So based on the theme, we need to come out with some idea to be present to the lecturer.

For the first class, the lecturer asked everyone in the class, to think for 5 minutes, and shared the idea with all members, even its not your choice, it's okay, just tell and share what are in our minds. what do we want to preserve?.

For me, first things that I can think is to preserve the forest, forest preservation. Why?, because i love nature, especially forest, the smell, the color, it's very peaceful and fresh. But now, as we can see, forest are getting deficient, logging activities are everywhere. So maybe this is one of the way to preserve the forest.

Method:

I will build a small tunnel that can load for one person only. and once the person step into the tunnel, the graphics on the wall oh the tunnel will come out  and become a peaceful place ever, with the green scenery, the sound of birds, insects, and that person will feel like he/she is at the real forest. After the person seeing everything, that makes her/him love and wants to protect the place, so we can cultivate the spirit of love the forest, and preserve it for the next generation, and protect the earth, from the global warming.
